23rd September Bolu, Turkey to Sivas, Turkey
Frozen Turkey.....
I woke feeling OK.... little bit worried that I mightn't have shaken the illness. I have a breakfast of bread and butter, keeping it simple seemed sensible. Clear blue skies so I set off for Yozgat, via Ankara.
Temperatures as low as 6.5C, not frozen turkey, but quite close. I covered the 100 miles to Ankara in less than 2 hours, navigated around the city without any stress whatsoever... what a difference to Istabul. I then headed on for Yozgat.
The weather warmed and the scenery was very impressive for the whole day, plains and mountains. Wide horizons, wheat fields, forests.
I stopped for petrol and hung out with some Turkish guys who offered me food. The roads were by and large superb. The last 100km to Sivas would not have been out of place in Switzerland. Any locals who have superbikes should put these roads to good use!
I covered the 250 miles to Yozgat by 1.00pm so decided to head on to Sivas a further 130 miles down the road. I arrived at 4.00 and then took an hour to find a hotel. This is the shit side of having no satnav....... my mapping ended in with Europe.
I found the most opulent hotel in town and passed it by. I then found the hotel district and stopped at the first. They let me park directly outside the door again.
